So, I was playing some Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3 the other day and decided to research the Corvette driven by one of the in-game opponents. Knowing that the two other boss vehicles from the game were real, I assumed this would be as well.
Enter: One of West Racing's C4 Corvettes. This thing looks and sounds like an absolute beast. A quick search of youtube for "West " only netted one video from what looks to be a few centuries ago, but I'm sure there are more out there. It looks to be a Gymkhana video that surprisingly doesn't show any chunks of pavement flying up from the sheer torque.
According to a blog post I'd found, this thing features a bumped-up displacement from 5.7 to 6.7 liters, embiggened internals, and perhaps magic pixie dust to create a rather intimidating vision of what I felt to be a tame model in the Corvette lineup. Look at that engine compartment:
I love looking at American cars in Japan, because they're often a lovely fusion of American and Japanese style. Many owners go all out, too, considering how much they already spent just to get the cars into the country. Do you fellow Opponauts have any more pictures/videos of this sweet ride, or fancy any other American expat cars in Japan?

Im actually way more interested in the Cobra that appears at the end of that video to be honest. And Id rather have a Corvette any day of the week.
Who had a kit cobra around that time in Japan, or where did that come from?

There are actually two of them, it looks like. If I had to guess from the video quality and the way people are dressed, I'd say this is from the late '90s. West Corvette is based out of Iga in Mie prefecture, which looks half-way between Nagoya and Osaka, so I'm sure they were running around somewhere in that area. 'Twas probably some salarymen.

I haven't found power output figures yet. I'll boot up the PS2 later and see if it is shown in-game. I'll have to find my old save file, though.
